About Me

Class of 1997 West Point I am a West Point graduate and airborne paratrooper turned healer and hula dancer.  I traded in my combat boots for bare feet when I became a yoga and meditation teacher, and it was all sandy toes from there on!  I moved to Hawaii in 2007 where I have since immersed myself in the culture – learning and practicing lomilomi and hula, working in lo’i kalo, and listening to na kupuna (elders) with an open heart and mind.  With the assistance of an incredible network of Hawaiian musicians, healers, and cultural practitioners and artists, I facilitate transformational retreats grounded in Native Hawaiian wisdom and culture in Hawaii and beyond.

Through my collaborations I host and help facilitate many different types of retreats, including these three that represent the foundations of my work:  L.I.V.E. ALOHA (9 Hawaiian Elements), L.I.V.E. PONO, (ho’oponopono), and the A.L.I.V.E. Retreat (Medicine Wheel teachings).  I offer these retreats in Hawaii, at the Grouse Run Medicine Wheel in North Carolina (close to Asheville), and at other select locations across the globe.

I continue to support the military community through my work with Mind Body Aloha Retreats and as part of Warriors At Ease, a non-profit organization that brings the healing power of yoga and meditation to military communities around the world, especially those affected by combat-stress, PTSD, and trauma.  With the support of other Warriors at Ease faculty, I train mind-body professionals to work in various settings where they can impact the health and well-being of servicemembers, veterans, families, and healthcare staff.

Though I’ve lived life from seemly opposite ends of the spectrum, my experiences have taught me what I know to be profoundly true – that the secret to world peace lies not in the strength of our military but in our own ability to end the war within. So let it begin with me… and you, and all of us who have the choice to choose peace over pain  in every given moment.

I have a true passion for empowering visionary leaders, artists, healers, warriors, musicians and anyone with a desire to live ALOHA, be PONO and DREAM BIG!
